8/9 speed rear wheel - LX / XT or similar

A friend has just trashed his rear wheel from his commuter bike (currently LX & X717 - 8/9 speed)

V brake

Has anyone got anything cheapie and similar to replace this? I'm having to deal with looking at his Klein in the studio as he refuses (rightly) to leave it locked up!

I've got a spare wheel, LX hub, F519 rim, I'm not sure about the spokes, it's true and comes with a Shimano 8 speed cassette and a Shimano QR lever. I can do photos if requested. I'd be after £35 posted, although he'd need to give me a few days to find a suitable box for it.
