I have the same Subway as you and been using it for commuting and general riding about, great bikes, especially for £20!

Sorry to hear about the accident, for what it's worth I would pursue the driver, he was obviously driving aggressively without due care and attention, go to a local solicitor and see if they can do a no win no fee case. I wouldn't feel bad about it, you were injured and lost your bike because of him. Not like you are making up the story just to get some cash out if it.

Anyway.......how bad are the frame scratches? I picked up a touch up paint stick from Halfords - VW storm grey metallic which is almost a perfect match for that carrera grey. I still need it for mine but if you want to use it for your frame then I'll send it over to you if you cover postage back?

don't touch that Carrera yet;see how it goes with the case first;
you put it right and it makes it easy for them get;a cheap bike and do that up
keep the evidence. intact.
