I am part way through building up a Kona explosif so a couple of pictures for now.
I've had frame sitting around since June/July time and haven't really had time to get started until recently. Partly due to a nasty bike crash with some broken ribs and also building up a Stumjumper for my daughter for Christmas.
Bought the frame on here but it needed a bit of work. One of the bottle cage bosses was loose and part of a bolt was stuck in one of the rear mudguard threads. Had a bit of ballache with the forks as the steerer was too short on the ones I got originally. Recently got some more on Ebay which are Triple butted and correct a-c size.
Managed to find a local framebuilder who sorted the bottle cage boss and I sorted the broken bolt. The framebuilder also recommended a local powder coaters who he uses. I was very happy with the paintjob.
I am planning on using DX parts in the main although I have a set of XT brake levers that will be going on.
The wheels are all my own work!! I had a pair of old Araya wheels on Joytech hubs which were hideous. Sourced some DX hubs and rebuilt them. It took me ages but I'm pretty chuffed with the way then came out.

Cindercone

Next up is my 1991 Cindercone. Built this up from scratch again. I liked the red he colour is actually a Vauxhall red.
I've had this for about 4 years and the pictures were taken last year at Cannock Chase.

My favourite year of Kona's. Looking forward to seeing the explosiv when finished. Great to see the cindercone in it's natural environment.
