Even if not a rando it looks a lovely frame. i have seen some of the later rando's in a similar colour on ebay etc, cant remember what the decals were like though, I think those one's came with some weird brake setup.

Certainly some had drop-bar Maguras - which were absolutely brilliant at stopping a loaded tourer or tandem!

I also found paper copies of a couple of Randonneur booklets from the late nineties. I'll scan them in and upload them when I have time.
Here they are.

http://rapidshare.com/files/3102482998/ ... eur_99.zip (2.37 MB)

Apologies for the messy scans: I'm using a grubby scanner at the local library. If I have time in the future maybe I'll upload cleaner versions.

I've labelled them '98 and '99, but I'm not 100% sure of the publication dates. I'm pretty certain that the last year of production was '99-'00 as I was looking for a new touring bike at the time, and posted details of the closure of RSP on USENET. The '98 catalogue shows two different Randonneurs: the small picture has a black Shimano LX chainset (which had been standard on earlier bikes) while the bigger picture has the Sugino Fuse listed in the detailed spec. The old-stock blue Randonneur I bought in 2000 came with the Sugino chainset, and I was told it was a '98 model.

Hello everyone,

one-eyed_jim, could you please re-post or reactivate the 2 catalog links please. I have recently purchased a Raleigh Randonneur, and the frame number puts the bike somewhere in the 99-00 year.

Also does anybody here know if the headset for this bike should be 1inch ISO or JIS. I have found some conflicting posts around :)

Thanks.
Have a nice day

Welcome to Retrobike!

I've no idea where to lay hands on either the scans or the original documents at the moment. If I find them I'll repost them.

The '97 or '98 booklet is online now at the VCC archive:

Mine used an ISO headset.

Re:

Thanks again for the information
