Bit harsh! ;-)

Yes, but one's priority is to look after one's self when dealing with strangers. There's not much to go on when trying to assess who you're Dealing with online, so it's prudent to pick up any clues. Dealing with better quality strangers reduces one's risk of bumping into an idiot or a crook. An ebay advert can reveal alot about the seller to a perceptive reader, the things they choose to state or omit, the vocabulary and spelling used etc. It's not about the spelling alone, but in combination with other tell-tale signs. I'm not saying all crooks can't spell, or all good spellers are honest, but this is just common sense. A bit harsh yes but it's also harsh getting embroiled in a frustrating transaction.
