Hi guys.

I've a set of forks here with an allot steerer, I bought a standard 1 1/8" SFN, but it looks like it's going to be a tight fit; Should I be using a different nut?

Thanks for the help!
 
As far as I am aware you only need a different SFN for carbon steerers.

Always hated putting the things in (awkward) so I always use Hope Hed doctors these days.
 
...I thought the same once. Solved it with a hammer and that was the end of it. ;)
 
I'm pretty sure a 1" spec SFN is the way forward for alloy steerers, of course this depends on the wall thickness.
 
Try the 1inch sfn. Though I moved to an expanding BBB style as it fit nicely, not sure if it was the 1inch or 1.125inch version though. And you get a really good straight pull down, which for my syncros stem worked much better.
