Hi all
I have a truvitiv blaze crankset , the type with 2 inner rings and a bash guard on the outer , does anybody know if you can use this as a normal x country triple by changing the rings ? I have an STX RC with no left crank arm so wondered about making one set from the two .

cheers paul

My daughter has a similar crankset on her Orange, but she's using it as a 2 X 10.

If the bash ring is taking the place of the outer chainring and the spider is machined to take 'something' on the outside, then I can't see a reason why you can't fit a chain ring.

Best thing to do is take the bash ring off and see if a chainring will fit.

One thing to remember is that Shimano and Truvativ have different chainline: Shimano is around 47.5mm and Truvativ is 53.

However, in the spirit of the late great Sheldon Brown, I'm sure with a bit ingenuity you can get it to work.
