Hy guys
I am back, this is like an addiction  ,today I found an old bike in a friend's deposit. He said to me that back in the late '70s his father bought this second hand bike to him. The frame was painted and also appear to be repaired, the components is a mix of the era I already check the only thing that looks to be out of place are the shift levers (suntour instead of campagnolo) and the 27 rims also looks like was replaced.
The frame is what intrigued me most since was painted the only marks I found are a Zenith I guess in the bottom bracket tube and some marks on the dropouts.
Please look at the pictures and let me know what do you think, worth the problems or just keep the parts.
Any input will be highly appreciated

Thanks in advance

That looks like a nice bike - the bits seem to be of high quality - perhaps a pic of the whole frame and forks would be useful. Get your Autosol and steel wool out!!

Judging from the present clearance between rear tyre and seat-tube the frame was not made for 27" wheels. A fillet-brazed frame with zeus forged dropouts carrying a load of top-of-the-line late-60s components? From what I can see.. Yes.. I'd strip it down and work on the rusty bits of the frame to check it's soundness. Also most of the components should have a date-code somewhere telling you how old they are?
perhaps a pic of the whole frame and forks would be useful
two to that too...

As you suggest I will tear it down then clean all parts in the process I will look for more clues and of course more pictures of the cleaned parts but the zenith stamped in the bottom bracket tube made me did some search over the www but I found nothing.
I will try better pics of the whole frame and the clearance of the wheels

Ok there is a few more pics in other to try put a name to my new frame. I took some pictures of the wheels clearance because I doubt it was original design to use 27" since I had to deflate the rear wheel in order to put it on, enjoy the view and while you are guessing what is it I will start the disassemble.

Early 70s headset...must be a date on the top pivot housing of the rear derailleur? Yes, could be happier with 700c or sprints, maybe built onto those hubs. Sorry, no idea about 'zenith'... what's the seatpost diameter?

Are there any bike makers in Venuezuela (that is hard to type)? Or, would all bikes be imported?

Richard

After a fast clean no new marks were found but zenith 1054 at the BB and the ZEU in the dropouts, bottom bracket made by Zeus118x55c.
No rear derailleur date just "patent".
Seatpost diameter 26.2 mm.
All bikes in Venezuela used to be imported.
Rear dropout space 120 mm
Head/top/down tube joint fillet brazed
TT/ST joint lug-fillet brazed
BB joint fillet brazed
frame set weight 2.75 kg
