1in road bike quill stem with MTB riser bars fitted! Could do with a bit more tension on the handlebar stem-bolt. So I'm after a fine shim to go between bars and stem. Has anyone got one lying around in their workshop that you no-longer need or want?

Help appreciated

Thanks

Theres a drinks in a can called vita coco (which is tasty coconut water) The drinks can is 2 or 3 times as thick as an average pop can and makes brilliant shims when a normal one is insufficient.

The stem will probably be to fit 26.0mm bars but the bars will be 25.4mm, so you need 0.3mm (.012") shim stock, though I'm sure that you'd get away with 0.010". Coke cans are 0.1mm (.004") so you'd need three thicknesses, which would work fine, but a single thicker shim would be easier to position etc. and would be a better solution.

Well, My Stem Just got Tango'd ;; and the thickness was just right!

Thanks for the Heads-up, one and all.
