Have two 7spd bikes
1 has a xt RD m735
the other RX100
Can I use these Sunrace R90 Bar End Shifter - Left Hand Friction
to operate the rear der's as they both have drop handlebars. Both bikes are road bikes with Mtb gearing for touring. don't want to use down tube shifters and anyway I think is what was in mind by a previous owner of one (the red carlton)

Yes - IF the left hand shifter has enough cable pull to pull the rear mech through all of the cassette width. It is really only designed for the front mech.

Alternatively try downtube shifters on Jagwire bar end mounts:

They are gorgeous to behold, use ti parts and are very light. Downtube or barcon shifters fit straight on giving you loads of choice.

They can be expensive though, I was lucky and found my set cheap via ebay.

*Edit - you will need the round piece shown in the pic - these are specific to Shimano barcons/ bar end shifters and are also used with other handlebar mounted downtube lever adaptors etc...

Cheers LGF, a bit high priced for this build's budget so it has to be down tube shifters for the record ace. bonkers really but at least I have an idea how to do it next build.
