Seatpost size for Raleigh Pursuit 1990s

I just wondered if anybody had one of these. If so what seatpost is fitted?

I have tried a 25.4 and it's too small, just rattles inside tube.

A 26.8 is too big.

I'm guessing a 26mm or something similar.

4130 Cr-Mo frame for reference.

26.2mm is quite common in road bikes from my experience, at least in Dawes, CB and Falcon which are all British marques like Raleigh thus probably sourcing tubing from same location.
