Not sure how to see the difference but rapid rise works the opposite way round to normal - the mech is sprung towards the largest sprocket rather than the smallest.
If this helps, when i push the right thumbshifter the chain goes up from the small to the large chainring on the cassette.
RD-M960 was rapid rise only.

Re: Complete bike in parts, XTR M965, FSA, Schwalbe!!!

That was my understanding but wasn't sure if m965 differed :?

No worries anyway, can't afford gears any more - going to build me a singlespeed and get fit!

Re: XTR M965 wheels, shifters, mechs, FSA, MAVIC, DURA-ACE

Chain and discset sold.

A good offer is welcome for the other stuff.

Re: XTR M965 wheels, shifters, mechs, FSA, MAVIC, DURA-ACE

whoever buys the xtr wheels? i have a spoke spanner that fits them from when i had some. i still think they are one of sexiest designed wheels and very light without making them weak or flexy. they look in fantastic condition so a good price. whoever gets them will be chuffed i am sure. also i like the fact they are a loose bearing cup and cone design which makes them so easy to maintain. it would be good if more hubs were made that way instead of cheap sealed bearings. glwts

Are your prices in Euro's? or £'s sterling (UK)?

Interested in the FSA carbon pro chainset.

Hmmm.. my keyboard doesn't seem to have the symbol for EUR... just $ and £
