Just wondering if anyone had done a skills course?

At first I thought the were a bit OTT, but thinking about it I've just tried to work things out myself, successfully in most cases but my cornering is still a bit ropey.

I've booked a slot on the Alpine Prep course offered by Ed Oxley who is supposed to be a great tutor with the patience of a saint. Also seemed like a good excuse to ride Hebden Bridge.

I'm quite looking forward to it. I'll post my thoughts up once I've done it.

Be interested to know how you get on.

I've just (finally) taken the plunge and bought a full suspension bike and two things are already clear...

1. Full suspension bikes need riding differently, and;
2. That it is a far more capable bike than I am rider.

So, I'm thinking about a few lessons to help me get the most out of it.

Will definitely repost up here when I'm done.

There's quite a few guys on STW who have done them and reckon they saw a big improvement in their riding. I can't see it doing any harm and I figured that you wouldn't (well most wouldn't) go skiing without some form of tuition. With tracks getting more technical and bikes being able to cope with more I may as well give it a whirl.

Ed is based oop north, but I'm going to make a weekend of it as I have family in Sheffield, which isn't too far away.
