trek 8700 project

Liking these, bought one brand new BITD, only cost me £699 as York cycleworks were clearing them out for trek, probably one of the best bikes I'd ever owned.

only problem it ever had was they recalled them because the big fork cracked at the weld, .....soon sorted mind :)

I didn't heard problems about the Tange Big Fork… All the top of line of Trek got this fork in 1991. If there were problems, Trek would recalled all their bikes…
If you could tell me more ;) ?

Even at trek they still love the 8900 :D

Don't think a big deal was made of it, cycleworks swapped it with another 8700's fork they had in stock so I didnt have to wait ages and it was colour matched.

all good in the end :)
