Is the alternate Grizedale Visitors centre food stall still open ?
I'm not sure whether the burger van will be parked up Ben.
I suspect it will be but maybe one of the locals can confirm...?

Otherwise I'm sure that Rob won't mind bringing along enough snacks for everyone.

ROB DOESN'T SHARE HIS EGGS.

Cool I have a pass for this sorted and am looking forward to it
Hope to bring along another but not confirmed yet.

I'll be there car sharing with Kaiser and Gaz. Will be taking the only retroish MTB I have at the moment , '97 Cannondale F700

last time down at grizdale on my rigid clockwork was a bit brutal so tbh I'm tempted by a bit of modern.... go on and convince me that retro should win the day folks....

It's a Retrobike National Ride, not a LetsAllRideModernbike National Ride.

So really you have no option ;)

Too right. If we all have to worry that our pride and joy is actually a shell of rust held together with a thin veneer of paint, then so should you.

If you overtake a modern bike you can smile.
If one overtakes you. You can blame it on the bike.
It's win-win:)

Re: Retrobike National Series Rd 1: Lake District ~ 23/03/13

I wouldn't turn up if I didn't ride an old bike. Why would you want to?

It's not as if its a rocky route anyway. The climb after lunch seems to be designed to flatter modern full suss bikes but otherwise its a pretty smooth route b

This!

Know I've been guilty of bringing modern tat on occasion (albeit retroish British steel), but I loved every single inch of the Lakes ride in 2011 on my rigid Alibi, just sublime riding and views
