Square taper, grease or not!!!!

It will come off if you remove the bolt ,it will come off in use.

Take and leave the bolt out and what happens? correct :) the crank falls off one day while cycling along.

"Aluminum cranks typically do not require lubrication of this press fit. Aluminum by its nature is self-lubricating as it is covered with a thin layer of oxidation. Adequate torque is typically enough to keep arms from creaking."

So pro No Grease they are, and pro lubrication from the thin layer of oxidation, and don't completely rule out Grease either.

That's because assembly/disassembly seem to have seem to have become a little interposed early on...

...we ALL know you don't need grease to facilitate assembly, just as we all know how many repeat 'How do I remove my stuck ***********' threads there are :cool:
 
I'm starting to believe that a lot more people here than I previously thought don't understand the difference between a square taper interface, a seatpost, and a quill stem(sing it with me now, "one of these things is not like the other things..")

The good news is this confusion probably won't end up with them hurting themselves, but sadly the mechanical ignorance will continue to be spread
