Yeah, saw it a few years ago on a retroride in Hattem.... Very nice frame! Would be nice to see it again with the new owner! ;)

Thanks! Just wait another few years and I think I can tell you the same!

Cheers,

Very nice to see the Psyclone turn up again. Think it will be a nice looking bike when finished. Surely the GT cranks are the 'bomb' for it!

Of all my purchased retrobikes this frameset was really the nearest mint one.

Have fun with it and looking forward in seing the build being processed.

Cheers,
Martin

Re: 1992 GT Psyclone 20"

Hi Martin, yes at last we have almost everything complete !

Irvin and me are already a year busy getting the best parts there that will suit the Psychlone the best..
And then money is always a factor that slows a project down..
First thing is to get the spokes and nippels..anyone idea which nippels would be the best in these rims?
We where thinking of aluminium ones but I think this will not work in rims without eyelets?
Anyone an idea?

Re: 1992 GT Psyclone 20"

a minor suggestion if i may :D lovely collection of parts you guys have there, for the front brake though it just needs to be a slight bit older than M737 to match the other bits. M730 low profile canti in black would be very nice...silver also. and if possible....a slightly older syncros seatpost...the one with the bigger vertical writing.

brass nipples i reckon....they are much easier to live with and work on when you need to true the wheel. a bit stronger also. use nice butted spokes for weight saving and feel. two cross front, two cross non drive rear, three cross drive rear

You are right about the M737, it's good for the time being. Same for the seatpost, we need the one without 'aluminium 7075-T6', first saddle up with what we have.

Thanks for your recommendation about the spokes and nipples merckx, useful info.

Re: 1992 GT Psyclone 20"

Oke, this weekend we took time to put some things together.
We decided to use the Chris King NoThreadSet™ and the XT Rapid Fire Plus ST-M095.
For the time being we used a set Araya RM-20 on DX hubs because the NOS Araya RM-17/XT hubs still have to be build.
And swapped the (bit to much) used GT saddle for a fresh Selle Italia Turbo.
Little problem with the rear mech, there's missing a small piece.
