John Samways 1992 Formula One – Finished – Page 7

Re: Form Follows Function - Formula One Cycles

Do you have any pictures of the bottom bracket area before you had the extra slither added?

I'm not planning to do much riding on mine so I might leave it for a little while before deciding what to do.

Do you have a frame number for yours?

Re: Form Follows Function - Formula One Cycles

I'm sure Sinnerman is correct, just be cautious.

Nice that you have all the goodies with the bike, not much to do! I might have some old team photos that include your bike, will have to go digging.

Mine is F1015, Deb Murrells XC race bike that was used in the 7UP and Grundig world cup races.

All F1 ride? Perhaps circling a pub's beer garden!?!

If you're squeamish, don't scroll down!

Re: Form Follows Function - Formula One Cycles

Oh Jesus! That is bad.

I'm thinking of getting it bonded at some stage but I would like to crack on and do some work on it first.

Great that you've got Debs old XC bike, thanks very cool. I was probably at some of the races when she rode it. How is the build coming along?

If you have got any other reference material and photos, I would love to see them. I did have read through your thread and looked at some of the photos there, it was a great help in deciding to get the bike.

A ride sounds good to me - just nothing to strenuous - for the bike, not me :D

Re: Form Follows Function - Formula One Cycles

So is it Johns Training bike.....?

I had hoped UnoSpeedo, would have confirmed.... :?

Re: Form Follows Function - Formula One Cycles

Is there any chance it could be his race bike?

Training bike is just as good mind you

It's all part of the Formula and UK bike history - and that's what's important to me.

I'm hoping Uno-speedo can dig out some old team photos which might help.

Re: Form Follows Function - Formula One Cycles

That very cool, thanks for confirming.

First part of the history slotted into place... :D

Just got to hope John is a member so he can shed more light on the bike...

Re: Form Follows Function - Formula One Cycles

He is a member, though he hasn't replied to my last PM since April, 2012.
