picked this up ages ago with the intention to fix it up & ride.
well short of a few changes i have got it almost there.
i will be changing the tyres and the thumbshifters & adding some grips.
i will also be putting a brooks saddle for my own comfort.
but don't intend to respray, just ride it on some of the rides coming up this year.
i have left the front & rear mechs original as they work just fine.
back in the day this was a bike i really wanted.
i will be finishing this off over the weekend.

What's the wrong colour? I had a crackle paint version black with burgundy over, I have a green like this now.

Looks tidy bike.

the build spec is as follows.
1990 muddy fox 21" courier comp,
original stem & fork.
original 400 lx front & rear mechs,
shimano deore chainset.
hope ti glide hubs on mavic 217 sup front rim & bontrager rear rim.
panaracer smoke tyres front & rear.
original seatpost.
brooks b17 world traveller saddle.
deore xt thumbshifters.
xtr brake levers.
deore xt cantilever brakes.
shimano xt spd pedals.
onza bar ends.

the bike is really a parts bin special, but i'm happy with the end result.
i built this to ride not to look pretty.

the green looks great loud vibrant
the maroon crackle finish looks dull

This is true but the ride of the maroon is much better IMO of course. The neon green is a defining bike of 1990 though, expensive enough to move it out of cheap atb territory but cheap enough to be attainable by a teen on paper round money.
