Devon ride - Dartmoor - Sunday 3rd March.

Found this on Google: High Moorland Visitor Centre, Princetown. ... Address: Tavistock Road, Princetown, Yelverton, Devon, PL20 6QF

Just had a look at the Met Office. Sunny today up there, but cloudy tomorrow :(
Oh well, should be dry though. Wrap up warm though as the wind will make it feel like -3 according to the weather report!

Gutted I didn't see this until last minute. Still waiting for my first RB ride....

My that was windy!
Good ride, and even better pie afterwards!
Score = Dartmoor 1 - jim's mech 0

Good ride, good to see you again Tom and Jim, and good to meet Tim and :oops: ??. Just looked at my legs, and I'm covered in scrapes :LOL:

Will sort out the pics either tonight or tomorrow.

Great ride thanks Tom. Thanks also for trying to get my GT single-speeded after that twig snapped my mech. You'd think a 24 year old (road) mech would be up to the task. On the plus side I've now got 2 good spare jockey wheels. It was a long walk/ride back to Princetown from the scout hut into the teeth of that gale. Tim enjoyed it a lot!
Will get bike sorted tomorrow. Got just the mech for it - a 1988 Deore.
Looking fwd to the Quantocks next month, not ridden there since the '90's.

This is actually my attempt at showing how far we had climbed, into the teeth of a gale. Unfortunately is doesn't show it very well

This is what we had to go. I was dying by this stage

Good pic's Tim.
Bike is back in action - grafted the short cage of the smashed 105 onto the 1988 Deore mech. Nearly new 34t middle ring, nearly new chain, hoping the cassette is ok with them. Weirdly, every chainring bolt was loose - presume the effect of pedalling with way too tight a chain. Also bb has noticeable play in it, probably not related. Bum, don't have any 73mm shell 113 mm UN72's in my well stocked & immaculately organised spares department.
