Fit one of these and forget about it - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=13249 and take opportunity to get those tyre and rim logos lined up 
If you look carefully at the close up, you can see part of the thumb from a glove coated with orange coloured rubber - I do carry a small piece of plastic and inner tube for such eventualities (2nd time it has happened) but found the glove nearby.
Anyways, anobody used that patch n the ^^^^ link?
I was going to try fixing the tyre (limited edition Cube red :? ) with some vinyl back cloth but previous experience has shown it is difficult to get anything to stick to the inside of the tyre - it needs to stick to prevent bulging and further tearing.

I've been running a Velociraptor for a few years with a duct tap fixed slice in the sidewall, not quite the same admittedly but similar. I refused to bin the tyre as it seemed to fix it, looks like I was right for once!
