Looking good so far! I'm a bit sorry that I never posted any fully built pics. I'll look around and see if I can find any.

I'm glad it's gone to a good home.

Cheers,
Gareth.

Thanks Gareth!
If you do find any pictures, do put them up!

I think mine will be finished by next week, and will take her out for a spin and post some pictures.

Re: Raleigh RSP Titanium - nearly finished!

Well, I changed the Skewers, seatpost and saddle and sorted out the Gear and Brake cables (need to secure the hose properly in the centre of top tube)
Managed to get some M-Part brake hose clamps from CRC, good, but need a tie up or something too.

Sourced a USE Alien Ti seatpost (cheap from a new online shop bicycle-nerds.com)
Flite Ti Saddle
XLite Ti Skewers in Black

All that's needed now is a USE or XLite flat Ti handlebar, and some black or Ti crank ring bolts (to replace the purple ones), plus a Ti or CK spacer on the Stem.

Ordered a lovely silver polished Phil Wood seat clamp - to arrive from the States next week! :) Will replace the xLite one.

Re: Raleigh RSP Titanium - nearly finished!

Much prefer it with the Selle Italia saddle. Also think that the stem would look better with a flat bar, other than that it looks ace.

The frame on this bike seems to be different geometry to my one.
Weren't there a couple (three?) geometries as the frame, and suspension travel changed? My first frame would "only" take 50 ish mm, the later ones (I think) were 80mm.
Obviously not 100% on this, I only rode them.

I heard recently that many look different as they were custom made to measure.

Risers could work, but they'd need a shorter stem.

Bet you can't wait to take it out for a ride.

Damn right man!
I'm itching to, but can't until I finished it. Need some nice straight flat XLite Ti bars, or some raleigh RSP Ti bars, until then, and until the seatpost clamp arrives...

Re: Raleigh RSP Titanium - nearly finished!

Well, thanks to this thread;

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=246976

I was able to change the spec and get the bike (almost sorted)

It now is very light, ride's beautifully and nicely balanced.

I changed the stem to a Syncros (thanks Fudd) and forks to magura Quake Air and added a few other bits n bobs.

A nice Phil Wood seat collar as a finishing touch!

Now all she needs is a set of Green Michelin Wildgrippers Sprint's and shorter gear cables!

Re: Raleigh RSP Titanium - nearly finished!

Shortened cables, replaced purple chainring bolts with silver blackspire ones to go with the Ti and Silver look, and bought a gorgeous minty WTB SST 98 Italian leather saddle to go with it, replacing the Flite Ti.
And replaced the Lizard Skin Peaty lock ons for some classic WTB dual compound!
The Phil Wood seat collar had to go, unfortunately, as it wasn't quite the right size.

:)
