98 Stumpy M2 seat clamp size

What is it???

I recently bought a 34.9 Hope seat clamp and although I could physically get it on, the open part was splayed open and I couldn't get even the first thread of the bolt to engage!

Can anyone help?

my 2000 is 34.9...

strange. whats the seatpost fitted size?

Seatpost is 30.9, seems some seat tubes are thicker than others!

I had the same problem with my 98 sworks M2. Hope 34.9 would fit and clamp the post but as you say, splayed open and didn't look right. I ended up going back to the stock clamp. Didn't think anyone sold clamps bigger than 34.9 at the time?

Got the seat clamp of the M2 and compared it with a 34,9.... It's bigger by 1mm. It looks like it's 35,9... Did not know that.

Had the same issue, everyone told me it was 34.9 but the two I bought (hope and a cheap one) didn't fit. Ended up sticking with the stock clamp.
