Gitane Vitus GTI Triple Butted Frame & Carbon Forks 22"/56cm
Vitus GTI triple butted frameset in Team RMO colours, originally sold by the cycles Berquez shop in Boulogne. Understated paintwork scheme with a couple of minor pock marks to the paint and a graze to the decals on the right seatstay otherwise no rust, dents or damage of any kind.
Very nice Campagnolo dropouts, chromed on the drive side as well as the chainstay.
Decently lightweight at an actual 2050g for the frame incl headset cups, STI adjusters and underside cable guide, this is roughly equivalent to a Reynolds 531Professional in terms of weight/frame size
Size is 22"c-c/22.5" c-t seat tube and the top tube is 22.5" c-c. 129.5mm OLN, I bought it with 8 speed wheels fitted as standard.
Fork is an early straight leg Time carbon composite with threaded steel steerer which are in superb condition, no dings/scratches anywhere, weigh approx 525g. Has lawyer lips as well for the careless types... ;o)
105 threaded headset that runs decently smoothly which I've just cleaned out and regreased.
Also included is a very nice virtually unblemished 'Gitane cycles' engraved ITM Record quill stem (120mm) with incremetal measures on the side.
Additionally rare Stronglight fluted seatpost that does have some light scratching approx 3.5" from below the clamp but these should be easy to polish out as they are very light.
Lastly the Mavic Threadless bottom bracket (116mm), the actual threads on the BB cups have not had a BB screwed in as the Mavic came as standard with the frame, runs nice and smooth with no play so no point parting them from each other.
It ran with a Stronglight 80 double chainset previously.
All in all a very nice bit of kit if somewhat understated. I can forward multiple photos and close ups of paint pockmarks and decal graze via email for closer inspection.
Reduced to £180 collected £192 via insured courier (excluding highlands and remote areas) I can drive up to 50 mile round trip for the same amount.
