abandoned GT Tequesta

i was flapping myself until i cleaned up then i thought nah thats immaculate she wont even know, she had been in the door two minutes before i got grilled on why all the bathroom silicon sealant was stained and why the place smelled of chemicals she never misses a trick, im excited to see how the bike ends up now i even managed to get a GT seat in black with the logo in yellow.

all i can do is wait now so i bought myself some cleaning kit from the supermarket to scrub the bike from top to bottom.

Great thread - great find. Somebody left a GT complete with skid lid locked to some railings not far from me. It's been there for months now and has been totally vandalised so it's heartening to read a thread like yours. Thanks and enjoy your ride :D

To the OP, I've been working away for a few days,my offer of the handlebars still stands so if you want them send me a pm.

Cheers

Matt

loving the spraying in the bathroom, thats hilarious! my other half goes ballistic when I start washing stuff off in the bathroom

Nice save ......Tequesta's get grief for being heavy - cuz they are. Still, my first "real" off road ride was a Tequesta that weighed in about 32 lb built. Can't help but have a soft spot for these. Cool that GT put such nice paint on even entry level bikes back then ....

She looks to be cleaning up nicely ....

pair of seriously light carbon bars and a set of dmr grips your a top bloke and the offer of the bacon butty brew combo will always be available.

looks great! to get those front brakes working better, the pads need to be moved further inboard as held by the cantilever. this will allow the cantiler arm to sit at an angle further away from the wheel. in turn, it will allow you to even up the length of your fixed straddle cable, and the brake cable section as it is held by the pinch bolt. and resulting...in better feeling brakes :D
