Eddy Merckx 7 Eleven Corsa Extra

Thats looking fantastic  I'll be keeping an eye out for it :D

it certainly was - the best ever, in my mind closely followed by
anything else from '87 to '90, take your pick!

as far as the oakleys are concerned, being stuck in my 80s
bubble i have a pair - trouble is i don't have the retro
hair-do any more to balance up the massive size of them!!

Wow yeh 1990 was epic , remember the pau stage when lemons got a puncture on the final climb of the day , the descended with some of the fastest speeds I can remember ! Also alp dhuez stage .... Fantastic stuff

i remember it well !! he was freaking out at the crowd and for
ANYONE to give him a wheel as he was "losing the tour de france"
as the clock ticked on! that stage where he buried himself
to beat the clock and where indurain just pipped him must go
down as one of the most impressive rides that he ever did.

not sure that he'll liked being called "lemons" tho'!!

Yeh some of the best years & the hardest riders ! Lemons ha ha , LeMond, Kelly, Moser, Hinault, Fignon, the big Mig the list goes on ....... & LeMond the only American to win the tour !

and so say all of us!! i'm weirdly happy to exclude armstrong and his era - a shame really
considering he came back from the brink, but as the old saying goes, "if it's too good
to be true...."

vive lemond, hinault et al !!!!

i've never seen that ad before - nice one!! was this printed in the
ozzie cycling press at the 'time' (sorry, couldn't help it!) ?

lovely bike from a golden era, if you're going to use it as a winter bike, you'll need a winter jacket

I loved my nylon fronted jacket, peaked hat and dodgy blue overshoes (made from so weird foam plastic - what was that stuff/ anyone?)

ha ha!! nice one and was already on my ebay watch list! never heard of "wamasch" tho -
it was always "hoonved" that i recall..

i remember those paper thin blue sidi overshoes - they always burst at the toes
where the toe clips nipped them....dreadful!!
