eBay Shipping question

I've seen a bike listed on eBay Italy and the seller has got the shipping costs to the UK at the top of the listing as €50.

In the actual listing they state 'please contact the seller for international shipping costs'.

IMHO €50 seems a bit low for shipping a complete bike to blighty.

Does anyone know / have experience of If I bought the bike (it's on a buy it now at quite a low price) would the seller have to ship at €50 or could they under eBay rules hike the price up ?

just contact the seller and ask for a quote. I think it will cost a lot more than EUR50 from Italy

Being a tight northerner I'd like to hold him to €50 if I could so do not want to contact him until I know where I stand as it will give me some leverage.

if it's what I think it will be, he'll take the hit with bad feedback, I would, and you don't get the bike

also don't forget on most bikes...if things go wrong..buyer pays return postage and paypal disputes don't get it back

I'm not too worried about that. The price he's got these bikes on at it's worth the punt.

Just had a reply back from the seller. He says he'll ship it for €48.

I'm amazed - I thought it would be more than that.
