That's real dedication/obsession paying that much for a front mech. I always find they are usually the most boring component in the build although that one is quite pretty

I think that if you are building something period correct, with a Mavic groupset that can only take a bolt on front mech you are fairly limited as to what you can buy. It only takes two to do the eBay-high-bid-tango.
