Re: Wire bead tyres - F**K 'em!

My Maxxis ones are fine, they go on and off no worries at all.

My Conti Rubber Queens...now they were a different matter all together. I had a proper paddy try to seat them, ended up having to prise them on with tyre levers, snapping loads in the process as well as having a paddy and throwing some levers down the drive!

Title updated accordingly!
although i have some Tioga Physco wirebeads that i tried to get on some mavic rims - they almost suffered the same fate.

however, i have some Specialised Z1 rims - i had to cut the wirebead from the conti tyres on there to get them off.
subsequently slipped on some specialized Team master/Comp tyres with no need for levers at all.

are wire beads more reliable? as in, once on they never ever come off? :p
i find them a bitch to mount, a bitch to post and whenever i remove a set from a wheel, i almost always find rust has penetrated through the rubber...???!!
