In need of help, and hello

Vertigo

Retro Newbie
I was given a Peugeot Flame mountain bike about a year ago now, rides beautifully and is my everyday ride. Problem is I have been trying to identify the year but to no avail, little snippets of information here and there on the internet and it lead me to this site which I have been wandering round for days.

As far as I know the gentleman that passed it on to me bought it new sometime in the 80's but this is all I know about it.

Any help identifying it would be appreciated.

Biopace rings up front
Shimano 200GS front and rear derailleur
Made in Canada sticker on the chain stay
Direct Brazing system sticker on the top tube
Super Tensile Tubing ??-10 (sticker ripped)
SIS Break levers

As far as I know this is all original kit.

Sorry about the pictures I know some of them aren't brilliant, and it wont allow me to post the pictures for some reason.

Thanks for any help

Hi, I think you need to have posted a few times on the site before it allows you to add pics.

Looking at the kit on the frame (chainset, rear mech) it looks late 80's to me, perhaps '88-'92, assuming that is the original kit.

Rear mech looks like a GS model, as does the chainset, (what does it say on them??), and the Biopace chainrings date it to probably late 80's/early 90's too.

Rear and front mech both say Shimano 200gs
