Your thoughts on my Gary Fisher beater

Looks like a pretty regular functional "beater" as you call it (too nice to be called a "beater" in my bike collection

), I can see the practicality of slicks, they have their uses.

For a moment there I thought there was actually a bike called the "Gary Fisher - Beater"

that could be some clever marketing

Weighed mine again, on cheap bathroom scales. 19" is bang on 5lb, which is a good weight I would say for a frame that is near the bottom (if not bottom) of the range.

Excuse the crap photos from my phone, need natural light for camera to work well. Its not pink like pictures, its dark red rattle can from previous owner. Not a bad job actually. He had some new decals made too.

I have some rigid forks as ditched the threaded ones these came with this in favour of some ahead I have. Tempted to get a disk tab welded on. The canti noodle has been cut in half on mine around the seatpost to run v brakes, so will do that for now.

Expect to get mine finished in 2013. Baby, knee op and work means its going to be a slow slow build!

coomber Thank you for the photo's it looks to be exactly the same as mine . . . ace. It will be one of your favourite bikes when you do finish it, they were designed by a person who had an abundance of knowledge and really cared about what he was doing, and it shows.
We have a lot to thank the man for.

I have just seen the catalog for 1995 Gary fisher, it looks like this is a 95 after seeing the catalog, the guy would not sell it either Grrr
