Thinking about getting 2 sets for my Kona but they'd be a big outlay so want to make sure they work well and are durable.
And any other brake choices similar to them you can suggest?

I have some, funnily enough on a Kona as well. They are as others have said already - easy to set up and well powerful, plus they look especially cool mated with Love levers. Before that I used some Avid Mag's (the copper ones) that were also nice to use, and very light, they just didn't match the levers….

I also inherited a set of Avid 1D's on a bike I bought which I planned to change, but I've been impressed enough to keep them, they work in a similar way to the Pauls i.e you adjust the spring tension externally. I think that they're pretty cheap to buy if cost is a factor :)
