Hi Doubledee
thanks for getting in contact, I have a 9 tube carbon vitus frame & forks which i've striped & re decaled & re lacquered. Mavic 501 hubs rebuilt with Mavic SSC rims. rear mec 851, front mec. A pair of mavic brake callipers (bit too modern I think).
I'm looking for headset (which I now think i've sauced) a Chain set, SSC Callipers & brake levers, handlebars & stem, & pedals & toeclips.
if you've got any of the above please let me know.
I'm looking for a GENUINE Colnago Super or Colnago Mexico Frame & forks & maybe a Molteni if the right one comes along.
I also have a complete NOS Dura-Ace AX group set that I want to put on something steel framed, but not sure what or if any Pro teams used the is early DA group set?
I almost always only build up early carbon frames, with the odd exception

Specialised ally epic carbon frame & forks circa 1988 ish

Sounds very nice, you have some collection there! is it easy to re lacquer yourself? As I would want to get the decals looking new. I can't help with the bits yet but will pass on anything that I see, is it the older fluted crankset or the starfish one? I've got calipers, pedals, one mavic nos brake lever with new white anatomical hood, one nos modolo very similar with a nos white hood, but no drilling on the lever so need to source a mavic one if possible but might build with that for now. I've got an 851 and 860 front and rear mechs and a stem like the 1A. I think you can get it all if you want to spend and shop in the USA , but I'm building to a budget this time. Race you to see who finishes first! I'm away ironically in France next week so it will have to wait a while, I've been wanting to build one of these for a while now, and I might risk doing the Paris Roubaix sportive on it next year if its good enough

Its the early fluted chainset that I'd prefer. The Carbon was just a case of rubbing down with wet & dry 800 then 1200. I obtained all the decals on e-bay from Australia, apart from one saying Vitus Carbone thats on the down tube between the gear levers & the head tube I prepared the frame & fitted the decals & took it to a local car sprayer & he did it with 2 part lacquer for me for £20. I forgot to mention that I have a few sets of the mavic/simplex friction gear levers. The Yanks seem to have a vivid imagination when it comes to pricing old cycle parts.

Thanks for that I'll get back to you on the gear levers if you would part with a pair ,not too well up on laqering what is 2 part? did he just spray the frame including the aluminium lugs? Hopefully my pleas for a frame will be answered...

The laquer has a hardner applied. its called 2 pack or 2 part. Yea will part with a pair of gear levers just have to check the prices out. YES everything was lacquered including the forks, after they to had been rubbed down as the seem to have a light coating of sliver paint or anodising on them.
