Re: Terrys Chocolate Orange anyone? "Bluey"
Been a little while since I last updated this: The build is now almost complete, I'm just waiting on the Middleburn spider to be re-anodised (which will be very interesting to see how it turns out) and "Bluey" as I've decided to nickname it will be finished.
Since I last updated an influx of small packets containing various bling bits have been arriving from the 4 corners of the globe, I kid you not!
Bits have come from as far afield as Canada, Australia, Taiwan (not surprising that one) and the good 'ol US of A!
So what have I been doing? well as some of the pics below show I have given in to my inner weight weenie   and replaced as many steel bits with Blue Ti or Alu as possible. There are a few bits that I haven't done, but that is mainly due to not finding a bolt that will fit!
Firstly an example of the brakes:
Blue ti mounting bolts, Blue ti washers, Blue ti cable clamp bolt & Ti pad holders and ti nut.
The M901 front mech:
Blue ti clamp bolt, Blue ti cable clamp bolt & Blue ti adjustment screws
The M739 rear mech:
Blue ti cable clamp bolt, Blue ti Jockey bolts, Blue ti Adjustment screws, blue Alu hanger bolt & Blue jockey wheels
Other Parts include blue ti bolts:
Control tech bar ends, Ritchey logic levers, Control tech stem, Chris king Nothreadset, Original Orange seat collar, All bottle cage bolts. The pedal spindles have also been replaced with ti ones!
This shows all the steel bits that have been removed (except the pedal spindles):
I figure that that probably means I've shaved a whole 90 grams off the bike!
It's going to be interesting to see what the all up weight is when complete. I'm hoping for somewhere close to 23lb.
