Microsoft Works word processor NOT RESPONDING????

My wife has just completed a load of degree work using the above program. Just as she was going to save it all up pops 'Microsoft Works Word Processor Not Responding'.
This was about 40 mins ago and no change yet :?
She, understandably, doesn't want to redo all her work so anybody got any ideas how to rectify the situation??

As far as I know, no. If it isnt responding it isnt responding. Leaving it be may well fix it but if its been 40 minutes it sounds pretty terminal. Is auto-save turned on? It may have been saved closer to the documents current state than you think.

As for a future fix, use Microsoft Office Word! Works is normally the first thing I take off a new computer. Copies can be obtained VERY cheaply if you know who to ask...

Fortunately most of her work had been auto saved

Not sure if it will have what she needs or not ; but OpenOffice kicks the backside of MS Office and is free.
