Hi All,
as many of you may remember, I have been asking for recommendations on who to get to paint my 1991 Klein Attitude, I was advised on two individuals, The one I went with has totally let me down and had me waiting 9 weeks, to then tell me to stop asking for any updates or to even ask anything to do with my frame that he has had for the last 9 weeks,

I'm puzzled ..they gave you a 8-12 weeks guideline and then at week 9 your upset? couldn't you wait the 3 extra weeks to see if it turned up

and stop with the sillyness about ooo i won't say but lets just say..you clearly mean etoe and marten

as to having your fingers burnt..according to your own words they still have 3 weeks left which you agreed the timescale

Yes, Jon rock also comes highly reccomended by some so that maybe an option if they either fail to meet the timeline or make you happy

As per the email I received today, it will be another 2-4 months.

Dear Ashley,

I earn only 600€ per month for 70 hours of work per week. I have to pay over 3000€ per month for materials, oil and energy.

Do you think what you pay will be enough to finance all the costs for such a professional paintbooth? Or do you think it is necessary to do some more jobs than only bikepainting to finance a professional paintbooth? Please exlpain!

Do you think I should work more than 70 hours per week to get your frame done? Please explain?

Do you think 600€ per month for such a perfect work is a fair deal? Yes?

Please write this at retrobike so everybody knows how much work it is to paint some frames for Porsche owners writing unecessary mails to hard working people.

It think it is an absolutely good idea to send your frame back ASAP to do better work in a Supermarket for maybe 1000€ per month with no need to answer unnecessary e-mails.

You are absolutely rude in eyery mail you wrote. The only thing you want is a perfect job for some cheap bucks.

I´m no longer interested in painting your frame. Please take it out of our shop within the next 14 days.

Waiting for your answer...

Martin, I don't really have a choice but to keep the frame with you.

I have to say I'm more than anoid though.

You quoted no waiting list, and 8-12 weeks delivery time, I think I deserve to know what has changed and why you have done this to me Martin.

I went with you as you were rated highly on retro bike but I will have to share my experience with everyone on their following this.

Every email you send is almost rude and certainly not of one as your client.

I would have go e with John if I had known what you would do, as it stands now you have had me waiting for 9 weeks, and now you are telling me it could be another 16 weeks, it's not good from your part at all do please explain Martin, you owe me that at the very least.

We would very much appreciate it if you could let us know what you would like to do.

Dear Ashley,

if you have a problem with our delivery times it is no problem to send your frame back to you in the original paintyob. So you can choose an other desigh agency which can paint yor frame faster than we can.

Actual we have a lot of klein clients and we think the painting of your frame takes maybe 2-4 month longer.

So please let us know ASAP if you want your frame back.

Dear Martin,
I trust all is well, we are now about 9 weeks from when the frame arrived with you there, I note from your previous emails that you said it would take 8-12 weeks delivered and you would email me once painting starts.
So far I have not had an email from you to say you have started painting it yet, or any other update.
Can you please let me know where you are with my frame please as I am obviously keen to have it back completed ASAP.

Martin,
Regarding the gator linear fade decals, what do you do on the forks as you have no graphics on your facebook ones.

I would like one going down each leg.

The price is fine, please proceed with the work.

Hi Martin,
I have decided not to paint the wheels and am going to use XTR brakes so the cables, so will not be needing to paint the maguras.

What is the process now you have the frame, and do you send me anything to approve like graphics etc.

Can you also confirm the price now you have it.

Thanks.

Hi Martin,
You were the first company I contacted, then Kleinpaint, either way I think that I would rather go with you looking at the Gator paintwork on Facebook.

I am the Klein attitude this week and will send it straight on to you from there.

Can you give me the full postal address and everything I need to pass onto the seller to send the bike onto you please.

And do you have some terms and conditions regarding quality of work etc?

Kind Regards,

Hi There, how much do you charge to spray a klein attitude in the gator fade paintwork as attached?

Kind Regards,

Ashley Alinia
Group Director

tell me about it.

Sounds like a bitter twisted person that has a real issue with people that can afford to get Kleins sprayed. While he is the one who has to paint them.

I am still in shock at his actions and attitude along with his comments.

...and people wonder why folks are willing to pay big bucks to get a complete, turnkey solution delivered to your door and not have to go through this hassle.

When you have a captive market then doing the job right first time works well...when it goes wrong it's the customer care that decides where your reputation goes next

I couldn't have said it better!!!

wow. I think this was unnessesary.
I feel a bit bad looking at the email history, but to me, Martin needs to work on communication skills.

I dont think you Ashley did anything wrong.
Imagining being in your position, i would also liked to know whats going on and i would also liked to see the position of stickers,
(since i already seen some frames online where i didnt like it.)
The problem is that answers you were getting were always quite short and without empathy so to speak.

Maybe they (Etoe) got a lot of jobs at once which can happen, or had some problems that slowed everything down.. this also can happen,
but all it takes is to explain the situation to client. apologize for delay..
I feel if you got some reasoning behind the delay, you would stick with them since you like the quality of their work..
And quality is there, no question, so Its unfortunate situation.

Indeed an eye opener. Another new chapter in the already thick book of 'Klein's guide to annoy the world'.
