Doing the Tom Simpson Memorial Ride on Feb 26th. Ideal for older 'higher' geared bikes as it's fairly flat.

well, that hurt! Should have known what we were in for. Most of the field rode carbon-everything bikes, we turned up on winter bikes - fat tyres, mudguards and flaps. good work out tho' plus we rode out and back from sheffield. Need more training though for next year .. never really felt comfortable, the fact that I didnt know where I was kept me with a group.
confession tho - didnt ride retro, rode the racelight T2

Just wondering whether there is amy interest in some retro road rides in 2012? Not thinking anything too ambitious, perhaps target an early and late season sportive plus the Herefordshire Road Ride in July - but is there a critical mass or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Thoughts/suggestions would be more than welcome.

How about Birmingham Oxford this Sunday? nice event, plenty of village hall cake and sarnie stops, easily do-able on 52/39 front, 13-25 rear
