Hi all. I've been given the following frameset to sell for someone but I might keep it for myself as its my size.
This is not a value request, nor am I offerering it for sale. I am just wanting to know more information.

It's a 52/52 size, nice lugs and lining but the paint is well past it. 501 tubing and seems quite light in my hands.
I have been to the MKM website to find a bit more but it's frame number is beyond what they have listed there. Frame number is 6825.
I was told it was a crit frameset but it doesn't seem particularly short or steep but I suppose its hard to tell front just a bare frame.

first, do you mean 531 tubing, not 501? I don't think 501 came out till much later and its not often used for a bespoke frame.

It looks like a 70's frame with long dropouts and over bracket cable guides, but I reckon it had some later work done with top tube and braze on bottle bosses. Mudguard eyes suggest its not a pure race frame and the brake caliper (if thats to fit 700C's) would suggest its not a pure touring frame - more of an all round club frame.

Tubing decal definately says 501, double butted main frame and stays. I will double check when I get home though.
It is a bit of an odd one as the MKM website doesn't list frame numbers as high as this one suggesting it may be a very late frame, maybe 1980's?

Hi Rob,
I'm resoring a mkm frame at the moment and have been intouch with Robin the man who runs the mkm website.
I will PM you his email address if you contact him with pictures and details of the frame number he will confirm if it is an MKM. Your frame number is 20 higher than the last know frame number.

501!? Hmm pretty sure its not. I'd agree pigman 100%

Your Reynolds badge looks to be this one:

Aaaaaah yes, decal isn't clear but it probably is 531 - it's not very clear it's a 3 on that decal is it?
