Can somebody just confirm what bottom bracket my 99 Elite should have fitted?

I`m pretty sure i researched on this forum beforehand and read that a 113mm one was needed, which i ordered.

Today i went to fit it and found a the bike had a 110mm version already fitted.

Just reading some Shimano service/tech docs and they suggest the 110mm version is for double chain rings, the 113mm version for triples.

To be honest i cant see what real difference it would make, the bike has always had triple chainrings on it since i built it up, this with the 110mm BB fitted.

It is all built up and ready to go on tonights club ride, but the left hand crank arm just seams to rub on the plastic cup a little when its all bolted up, wondering if this is somehow because i fitted a 113 instead of the 110 it already had.

edit.

this webpage says the bottom bracket should be 107mm

It says the normal non max frames should be 110mm.

Finally got a new fork! My first air, fox float 130mm. I know it's not really retro, I was originally gonna get a judy xl or older bomber, but for the price I couldn't pass it up. Unbelievable difference from my crappy old manitou 80mm coil.

Next step is to get a float for the rear and hopefully a longer travel link.

Have had some down time since it's been too muddy to ride. Wrapped the chainstay and tried the DIY chain guide using an old reflector clamp with some rubber zipped to it. Works well on the street so far.

Made my own version of a chain stop tonight. Not the best looking but it was free since I already had the parts. Never use the granny ring and the chain kept jumping off so hopefully this helps.
