1991 Trek 8000

Retro Newbie
I just love this bike and still ride it most weekends in The Chilterns. I grew up near the Wisconsin factory and there were always near new bikes in the paper...cost me a 100 bucks in 1991

Someday it will be replaced with an up to date 8000...but for now easy to keep on the trail.

Frame is Aluminum (yes, Aluminum ;) )
This forum helped me get a Pace RC-35 to take a bit of the pain
Original Tange fork in shed

Bontrager race lite stem and bars, Ragley lock on grips
Original Tru temper bars and Tioga Tbone in shed

Original brakes and drivetrain destroyed a while back...what I have on at the moment:

Shimano STX shifters
Shimano Alivio drivetrain
Wellgo B-54 pedals
Avid Single Digit V brakes
Shimano Deore XT levers
WTB Speed V Comp Seat

Original Matrix Mt Aero Singletrack Comp rims and Shimano Deore DX hubs

Bontrager Jones Mud X tyres

Thanks for keeping it Retro!

lovely bike even better with suspension imo. i put indy c, world force stem and high rise monkey e50,s on my 6000 and it has made it an absolute dream to ride.
keep the bonded faith brother :D

thats a nice Trek, that, nice colours.

I had a 1993 Metallic Red 7000 alloy back in the day.

I did not really like the ride, to much, but looks wise

I have the same Trek 8000. What components did you need to swap out the old for k with the shock? It looks great!
