Peugeot Competition-2000 [Road Bike] 1998 - FOR SALE

I bought this bike new from Richards Bikes in Exeter during 1998..... here's a picture of a similar bike to give an idea of how it originally looked.

After many years of service I took on a rebuild project in Jan-12. It was completely stripped-down, sandblasted, professionally re-sprayed in gloss black and fitted with new components as follows:

Frame - Columbus Thron tubing with original decal
Rear mech - Shimano Sora [short cage]
Front mech - Shimano Sora [braze on 28.6mm]
STI levers - Shimano Sora
Brake calipers - Shimano Sora
Chainset - Shimano Tiagra 175 Crank Length 39/52
Bottom bracket - Shimano Sora [English thread]
Cassette - Shimano Sora [12-25]
Headset - Token TK727CN Alloy Threaded
Stem - Ritchey Adjustable Road Stem Black 100mm x 31.8mm
Handlebars - FSA Wing Pro Anatomic Road Bar 2009 31.8mm
Bar Tape - Ritchey Pro Road Bar Tape Black
Seatpost - System Ex Allow Seat Post
Tyres - Continental Continental Grand Prix 4 Season
Wheels - Shimano R500
Saddle - Riva Road Saddle

I've since been riding the bike twice a week on a 20km commute..... it's beautiful to ride, super stiff and despite its weight it has many Strava KOM's to its name. It's still in very good condition, with a few marks as the mileage would suggest.

The next generation of cyclists are coming through in my household and I need the space in the garage for some smaller rides..... If I get any initial offers I'll happily post some current photos.

Bizarrely, another member posted an original version of this bike on 14th Jan. Their price is £575ONO. Whilst mine has much newer components, I'd imagine the original factory specifications add a premium, so I'll pitch for £450.

Additional information:

Size - Seat tube is 22" centre to centre
Shipping - Would prefer to meet face to face; happy to drive to Portsmouth, Gatwick, Eastbourne, but will also post recorded delivery at additional cost
