Mavic Open 4 cd rims on Campy Victory 100mm/126mm Hubs.

Rims in excellent condition with barely any wear to anodized surfaces.

Spin well and perfectly true.

Asking for £165 collected or £180 posted.

As a Campagnolo collector keen to expand his knowledge, can I ask, what identifies these as Victory?

All I know is that the record hubs have a band around them and other higher end hubs have an oil port also.

These are 126mm 7spd so out mid 80's which is consistent with Victory hubs date.

It is possible they could be early Chorus from what I have been told.

This is very new to me as I normally ride modern bikes but just started picking up bits and pieces for a restoration project a 1983 Scapin frame/forks which I had similar frame when I was 16 back in 1987!

I am open to be educated if they are indeed something else.

No, it's interesting as I too have trouble distinguishing between these and early screw-on Athena and Chorus units. I assume the difference lies within e.g. quality of bearing surfaces and axle parts. I will investigate and get back to you.

Triomphe hub shells were also visually similar and from the same era but used "squared end" Quick Release units http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx? ... &AbsPos=47
