95 Marin nail trail

So i bought this about 4 months ago from ebay. After having a 91 palisades trail and a 94 bobcat trail when they were new, i had my heart set on a 90's Marin. When this one popped up i couldnt believe how close it was to me. Anyway heres a pic of it now i can upload photos from mobile!

Any plans to change/upgrade it?

I'll be keeping it as it is. It needed a clean when i picked it up and i've got a new pair of inner tubes to fit too. I managed to buy the last genuine marin headset badge from whayne on here so that's to go on too! Just needs the nail trail decals replacing, dont know why previous owner removed them. Only plan to use it in dry weather though.

Oou of curiousity, does anybody know what tbe purpose is of the horse shoe that's attached to the rear brakes??? lt was already fitted when I bought the bike but pretty sure they weren't fitted from Marin.

Nice bike you got there.

The horse shoe is a brake booster which should increase the braking power while it stiffens the stays.
