Hi,

I've got a Colnago C95 and I can't seem to get anything to screw into the bottom bracket shell for the cable guide. There does seem to be a hole. Can anyone help?

Here's a picture of the frame but I don't have a picture of the shell itself. I should say the frame is one of the cheaper ones and it therefore doesn't have any fancy cut out of the BB, it's more or less solid except one little hole.

A lot of the plastic inserts have a sort of plastic pin that locates in to the hole as Shaun says. You just need to find the right type. The gear cable tension then prevents it falling out.

Mine was actually stuck down with some sort of silicone. Eventually it let go and my shifting went to the dogs. When I finally found the cause, (changing the gear cables thinking they were the problem), I simply tapped a thread into the hole. I think it was perfect for M4 or possibly M5. I then used a suitable bolt from a bottle cage I think. A little thread lock and it hasn't moved since.
