My dad bought this bike brand new, He has done over 10.000 steady miles on it, when He finally made His mind up to buy a new bike at the end of last year He gave me the Marin. I stuck to a tight budget of £30 for the rebuild using a lot of parts from stock that stood me at nothing, it has brought it back to life and looks well for a 15 year old bike, I know the spec is very basic but it does the job and it is always a joy to strip a greasy seized up old bike and bring it back to life and then get out and ride it for the cost of 30 quid. :D :D :D

There ain't nothing wrong with a parts bike special, not every bike we churn out can be dripping with Kooka, King and Caramba (true for the majority of us anyway ;)).

Congrats on re-purposing what would have been a forgotten steed, it's a very satisfying feeling - I've recently done the same with a '95 Specialized Hardrock Ultra and I plan on doing the same again, should a good deal come my way :D.

Bobcat

Always thought the Bobcat trail was a Crmo frame?
Didn't realise they continued through to the Aluminium versions too? Tidy build for a "Parts Bin" special :?

Yes it is tidy, very pleased with it, the best thing I have done over the last 12 months is create and organized parts bin and have been building up stock by going to bike jumbles and it helps when people donate bikes to you because they don't have a clue what it is :D :D what a great hobby :p
