I was fortunate enough to acquire a rather nice alloy Campagnolo 7sp screw-on freewheel. I really want to use it with a set of LF Record hubs from the same period for a mid-eighties Super Record build. The hubs I have have a 130 OLN and they 'appear' to fit with very minor force into my frame. Although I'm happy with the fit I now need to understand if there is enough space for my 7sp freewheel. I realise one way to find out is to try it out but I will need to aquire some speacialist tools to a) remove the current 6sp Regina block and then b) fit the Campagnolo block. The other question is, will standard SR r/mech and DT shifterSo work with the 7sp setup. So, has anyone has any experience with this kind of issue or should I not bother and stick with the 6sp. I really like the Campagnolo freewheel and it's not in showroom condition so it's beyond the realms of Italian exotica and really crying out to be used.
Here's the one I have - http://www.velobase.com/ViewComponent.a ... 4&AbsPos=7
Velobase describe it as 'narrow' but it is 2-3mm wider than the Regina block. The other question is, does anyone have a 6sp they want to swap for my 7?
