I've had this since new, everything original including the tyres, I still have the Marin gel saddle, she's been a trusty old thing but it's time to thin out the bikes a bit and it may well be that I let the old girl go. Any ideas what I should ask ?

Worth ~€150-175 in parts so maybe ~€125-150 as a bike.

Nice Bike...!
If you can wait til the Spring I'd look to auction the cycle on EBay and you may well get over £400 as is

Broken down and sold as parts you may get more from EBay or retro sales.

Hope that helps, if I had £400 spare I'd make you an offer :)

As has been said, you'd get far more splitting. The RP23 alone should reach £150 to £200, Pace forks £100ish, brakes £50+, wheels £80ish, frame around £200 to £250 etc. Think you'd be lucky to get any more then £400 to £500 complete as even though yours is very tidy looking it's old and for £500+ far more modern 5's are turning up.

Thanks for your replies. Food for thought. I suspected waiting for Spring would be a better option. I'd prefer to sell as a complete bike if possible. I agree 5's are turning up for a bit more, but most are set up toward AM, heavier and therefore not as quick as this bike for rapid smooth XC.

Hi, this is my first post and not really looking for a valuation of the bike. I want to see if anyone can recognise the bike frame maker?
I was into windsurfing in the nineties and had some F2 sails and gear so know who they are but don't ever remember seeing any MTB's in there line up. Could it be a marketing display made by somebody for them? Bears some similarities with Orange I think. Maybe somebody out there knows some info on the bike, it has not been restored, this is it all original, hardly turned a wheel.

It's an F2 (Fun & Function) Renegade. Shimano Deore LX groupset.

Yep, wouldn't have thought it'd go for much over £100 as the early alu Marins don't seem to have much of a following. If you've had it from new I'd defo keep it.

Still doesn't change the fact yours is a Sub 5 so heading in to retro ground. Buyers will know this and simply see a 10 year old bike and pay accordingly. Hope you get a good price as it looks belting but I'd be prepared to be disappointed if you think you'll get 5 money for it.

Hi folks, this is the 94 19" P7 frame and F7 forks I got recently from ebay. I think I paid a bit too much at the spur of the moment, having decided quite hastily go for it. I've since got a Lava Dome that's going to be built next, and I've a larger, newer P7 on way, so have decided I'll probably pass this on.

Sorry the post is a bit pic heavy, but wanted to show it's less than perfect state, and dimensions. It's got a fair bit of rust speckling and a PO has tried to get rid of this rather aggressively with a something abrasive, as can be seen on the chainstay in the 2nd pic. Also an undersized seatpost has been fitted seemingly, so the clamp area is a little constricted, though this is not very clear here.

Despite the speckles, the insides look clean down the holes that I can see in.

So... I am sure I paid too much, but of course don't want to lose more than necessary, so what are your estimations? I will possibly split, but worry that it may mean I sell one part and am stuck with a less saleable other part.

Dreading the packing and posting part more than anything!

Cheers, Jem.

Hi

I've got Barrie Clarkes ex race bike from 1996 when he won the British Nationals. It is full of all the X-LITE, HOPE, XTR, SRAM, FIR and Rock Shox kit. I have just replaced the elastomers with an uprated spring kit from the USA and the bike rides superb!!

I am considering selling it but i have no idea what it is worth, everything works perfectly, i've just serviced everything including the Maguras and its still got all its original graffics!

...any suggestions on value?

many thanks

Mark
