Rotor Size

I've got some disc only Rock Shox Dart 2s and a choice of 160 or 185mm Avid rotors. I read somewhere that only 160mm rotors should be used with these forks but can't find any mention of it in either the user or technical manuals. Would I be risking life and limb using the larger rotors? :shock:

Your help and advice would be much appreciated

No but they may flex very badly.

Thanks for that but that's only got the tech and user manuals too. I probably won't be stressing either the forks or the brakes too much (I'm not exactly Danny Hart

) so perhaps 160mm would be the sensible choice. Alas, I have never been sensible

If it is I can't see it :? All the specs to do with service intervals max tyre size types of suspension etc but nothing about rotor size :?

Cant find anything either. Is there a sticker on them? I think it is 160 though.

160 max but on another forum they say you can run 185's...at your own risk!

all of the bike we have for sale in the shop with those forks on have 160mm rotors, never seen one come through with larger rotors on. Personally I'd stick with the 160 rotor purely on safely grounds
