I guess I have a pretty rare frame, so if I ever need money for another toy... :)

It was for sale off and on for a year before you picked it up. I wouln't expect higher offers to come pouring in.

Klein Team Super - 1978

I was fortunate enough to purchase this pre-1978 Klein Team Super on an eBay auction about a year ago. Until yesterday, it had a small 1.5cm rip at the top of the seat post just above the seat post binder bolt. Looks like a previous owner tried forcing a seat post into the tube that was too big. I took it to a local welding shop yesterday and they welded it for me for a very reasonable price. Here's what a Klein "expert" had to say about this bike: it's indeed a Team Super, built before 1978. The cable stop on top of the chain stay and the welded-on front der cable guide are features only found on pre-78 frames. On this pic i think i can see the slight step at the end of the boron/carbon strip

There should be a similar step at the other end close to the bb shell. Similar strips are on the inside of the seat stays and the inside of the fork blades (assuming it's still the original fork).

Not sure how to add images here, so I'll link to the page on my site with the Klein pics and the story behind it.

If anyone has any other info on this frame or can contest its heritage, please chime in. I'm interested to learn as much as possible about it. I'll be building it up with era-correct Campy SR components soon.[/img]
