Do you live on a bomb-site?

Apparently a Vulcan B1A crashed about a mile away from my house, in 1964. How thrilling. :?

Oh, and when I was 15, an IRA bomb on the nearby railway nearly blew out my parents' windows. That's my explosion-related history, right there.

I live on a minefield not a bombsite. Admittedly its a lot of minefields all kitted out as the county of Midlothian. The 'mines' are actually real disused coal/limestone mines ontop of which most of midlothian sits and over time causes the collapse of houses or even entire streets. Not as dramatic as German or Italian (yes a limited amount of Italian aircraft took part in the blitz) bombed areas of the UK but does have a real effect on my built environment.
Another useless fact was first downed German bomber of WW2 crashed in Midlothian. Wasn't shot down, German reconaisance Heinkel He 111 flew into a low hill south of Dalkieth in fog. My gran had a small ring made from the aluminium extracted from the wreck
